APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Department Director,
or designee, to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 1124 in a amount not to exceed
$173,895 to provide domestic violence support services to California Work Opportunity and
Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) participants for the period 2011 through 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$173,895: 86% California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs)
Single Allocation (20% County; 40% State: 40% Federal; 14% County as Authorized by
Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence
BACKGROUND:
This Request for Proposal will solicit responses from community-based and faith-based
organization to provide a wide array of domestic violence services that are tailored to meet
the specific needs of the clients served by the Workforce Services Bureau. Services should

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
include CalWORKs domestic violence liaisons at four Employment and Human Services
Department (EHSD) offices, technical assistance, consultation, and domestic violence
identification and skills training; on-site capacity building and linkages for domestic
violence victims to community resources.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
This valuable service will not be offered.
