HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05032011 - C.116RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-119-9 with San Jose State University, an educational institution, effective August 1, 2011 to amend Unpaid Student Training Agreement #26-119-8 to modify the Program Plan to add dietitian field instruction, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: None. This is a non-financial agreement. BACKGROUND: The purpose of this agreement is to provide Contractor’s students with the opportunity to integrate academic knowledge with applied skills at progressively higher levels of performance and responsibility. Supervised fieldwork experience for students is considered to be an integral part of both the educational and professional preparation. The Health Services Department can provide the requisite field education, while at the same time, taking advantage of the students’ services to patients. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-119-9 will allow Contractor's students to receive additional supervised instruction in the dietitian field through June 30, 2013. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, the students will not receive supervised dietitian fieldwork experience at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.
