FISCAL IMPACT: Cash shortage in the amount of $2,600. BACKGROUND: In accordance with the provisions of Administrative Bulletin 207, the Office of the Sheriff requests relief of a cash shortage that occurred in the Coroner's Division in the amount of $2,600. As a result of an internal audit, the Auditor's Office recommends that the Sheriff's Office submit a request for relief of shortage. Good faith efforts have been put forth to gain restitution; however, the bad debt still remains outstanding. The District Attorney's Office declined to prosecute due to the statute of limitations.
