APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee,
to execute a contract amendment with STAND! Against Domestic Violence, a non-profit
Corporation, to increase the payment limit by $20,000 to a new payment limit not to exceed
$191,690 for domestic violence shelters, for the period July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$191,690: 35% County Funds; 65% Marriage License Fees.
BACKGROUND:
This contract addresses the social needs of the County's population in that it provides a crisis
call center number 24 hours per day/7 days a week, and provides at least 7000 emergency
shelter bed days to a minimum of 100 women and children in crisis situations.
This contract amendment adds $20,000 to the contract amount to enable contractor to
provide additional services.

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This contract supports two of the community outcomes established in the Children's Report
Card, 4) "Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing" and 5) "Communities that are Safe
and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families". Expected program outcomes
include a safe environment where victims of abuse can receive appropriate support and
follow-up services.
