HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05032011 - C.100RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #24–243–51 with R.E.A.C.H. Project, a non-profit corporation, effective July 1, 2010, to amend Contract #24–243–50, to increase the payment limit by $2,502, from $644,419 to a new payment limit of $646,921, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: This amendment is funded 69% by Federal Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment (SAPT) Set-Aside grants, 16% by Federal Drug Medi-Cal (DMC), 10% by State DMC, and 5% by County Juvenile Probation. (Rate increases) BACKGROUND: On July 13, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #24–243–50 with R.E.A.C.H. Project for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011, for the provision of drug abuse prevention and treatment services at Contractor’s facilities throughout East County. Project The California Department BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP) has since revised the rates for DMC services for fiscal year 2010 – 2011. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24–243–51 will modify the rate schedule to reflect ADP-authorized rates, through June 30, 2011. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, there will be no change to Contractor’s rate schedule. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This prevention and treatment program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include addicted youth being provided an opportunity to prevent or recover from the effects of alcohol or other drug use, become self sufficient, and return to their families as productive individuals.
