Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract #26-667-2 with World Courier Ground, Inc., a corporation, in an
amount not to exceed $195,000, for the provision of courier services for Contra Costa
Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from April 1,
2011 through March 31, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On April 13, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-667 (as amended by
Amendment Agreement #26-667-1) with World Courier Ground, for the period from April
1, 2010 through March 31, 2011, for the provision courier services to the Contra Costa
Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers with regard to pharmacy,
laboratory & on-call courier services including pick-up, transport and delivery of laboratory
specimens, transmittals, x-rays and

Approval of Contract #26-667-2 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide courier
services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers, through March 31,
2012.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa
Health Centers would not have courier services for laboratory specimens, transmittals, x-ray
films and pharmacy medications.
