Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Notice of Cancellation #29-392-30 to cancel Standard Agreement
#29-392-29 (State #1053), with the State of California Emergency Medical Services
Authority, for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project, effective at the close of
business on April 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Any cost occurred by County up to the effective date and time of this notice of this
cancellation of Agreement will be paid to County by submitting an invoice to the State
funding for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project for fiscal year 2010-2011,
(offset by a County Match not to exceed $38,586 from the SB12 Emergency Medical
Services Authority funds).
BACKGROUND:
On November 23, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Standard Agreement
#29-392-29 with the State of California Emergency Medical Services Authority, to pay the
County

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
an amount not to exceed $142,000, for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011,
for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project.
Approval by the Board of Supervisors will allow the Health Services Department to accept
notice of cancellation agreement #29-392-30 from the State of California Emergency
Medical Services Authority, for the Regional Medical Disaster Planning Project, in
accordance with the terms and conditions in GTC 610, Paragraph 7. (Termination for
cause), that the Contract is terminated effective close of business on April 30, 2011. This
Contract is no longer necessary because the employee participating in the program has
retired and the Department will no longer incurring any costs to be reimbursed.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
None. These funds will no longer be provided to County due to the retirement of the
Regional Disaster Medical Health Specialist.
