ADOPT Position Resolution No. 20918 to add one (1) full-time Senior Radiologic
Technician (V8VA) (represented) position at salary level QT5 1737 ($5,966 - $7,251) in the
Health Services Department.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in a cost of approximately $138,215.04 annually.
100% of this cost will be offset with American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009
Federal Funding.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department is requesting the addition of this position in order to
comply with the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) of 2009. Provisions
under the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 have made available Federal
and State Funding to health care organizations and hospitals who provide services to
Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries

Subject:P300 #20918 ADD one (1) 40/40 Senior Radiologic Technician (V8VA) position in the Health Services
Department Hospital and Clinics.
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
to assist in the adoption and implementation of "certified electronic health record
technology”, replacing paper medical records by 2014. (H.R. 1, 111th Cong. §§
4001-4201 (2009). After full implementation and evaluation, staffing levels will be
reviewed and adjusted to the new processing environment.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Adding additional positions and recruitment of personnel is critical in order to secure
Federal and State funding, to meet target implementation time- frames, and comply with
Federal mandates to prevent any reductions in Medicare reimbursements.
