Subject:P300 #20907 Increase Position Hours in the Health Services Department
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department is requesting to increase the hours of the following
permanent part-time and permanent intermittent positions and their incumbents in
accordance to the memorandum of understanding between the County and Local One. In
the past six months, these employees have consistently worked the increased hours: 1)
Cardiology Technician II position #9620 and incumbent Roya Iranpour, from 36/40 to
40/40; 2) Cardiology Technician I position #9621 and incumbent Yves Mottier, from
permanent-intermittent to 40/40; 3) Institutional Services Worker-Generalist position
#9031 and incumbent Juan Coras, from permanent intermittent to 40/40; 4) Registered
Dental Assistant position #14033 and incumbent Shirley Grossi, from 20/40 to 40/40.
Additionally, the Department is requesting to increase the hours of Pharmacist I Position
#9958 and incumbent Kenneth Nguyen, from 20/40 to 40/40 due to the Pharmacy
Division's increase in patient load, and medication management regulatory requirements.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, the Department will not have sufficient staff to meet its
operational needs, which impacts patient care services.
