HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05032011 - C.03RECOMMENDATION(S): DIRECT the Public Works Director to arrange the closure of the East/Central County Travel Corridor Area of Benefit Trust Account (Fund 138900, Org 0679), as recommended by the Public Works Director, East County area. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact. The East/Central County Area of Benefit has a zero balance. BACKGROUND: The Board of Supervisors created the East/Central County Travel Corridor Area of Benefit (ECCTCAOB) on September 16, 1986 with the intent to finance safety and capacity improvements of the travel corridor between Willow Pass Road in the City of Concord and Willow Pass Road in Bay Point. Bueren, Public Works Director/Chief Engineer Date:May 3, 2011 Contra Costa County Subject:TERMINATION of East/Central County Travel Corridor Area of Benefit, (Trust Fund 138900) BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) the County share of the Driftwood Drive Extension project with the West Pittsburg area. Funding from the ECCTCAOB was approved since this project relieves congestion along Highway 4 and local existing roadway network. On June 26, 2007 the Board of Supervisors authorized the Auditor-Controller to release $74,350 from the Designation Reserve East/Central County Travel Corridor Area of Benefit, to be transferred to various project charges. The East/Central County Travel Corridor Area of Benefit Program has fulfilled its objective and there is a zero balance in this account, the program and account should be closed. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The East/Central County Travel Corridor Area of Benefit Program and account will not be closed. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
