GloverAgenda SHORT DISCUSSION ITEMS SD. 1 PUBLIC COMMENT (3 Minutes/Speaker)Captain David Fry, United States Navy, Retired, said that in regard to health care the County has done very well in addressing communicablediseases and he would like to see a more easily accessible dental program. He noted that President Obama spoke on shifting health care plans tostate control which would make a single payer plan more feasible, and Captain Fry highly encourages this. He would also like to see more stateinvolvement in the areas of public utilities and low income housing opportunities;Joseph McNeil, resident of Bay Point, noted that many young people may need assistance with using the County's online application process. Healso spoke on the hopes of youth to attend college and hopes that state grants might be made available to assist with the cost of transportation toschool, and he recommended more awareness for youth of opportunities existing and proposed for college education and of the importance of acollege education. Mr. McNeil further noted that the current minimum wage is not sufficient for a person to live independently.
