The Weatherization Program offers assistance to low-income households with measures to improve the energy efficiency of their homes and lower monthly energy bills. This purchase order will enable the County to access residential heating and air conditioning services to assist County residents. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The Weatherization Program will be incapable of securing the services of private contractors used to perform specialized equipment installations and repair services. The program will be incapable of meeting its obligations under the contract scope-of-work, jeopardizing program funding. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Many applicants are low income families with small children who request program assistance due to building deterioration, and inoperable or defective gas fired water and room heating appliances. Absent program assistance, children could be exposed to extreme fluctuation in environmental conditions, increasing risk of health consequences, including injury from damaged or defective gas fired appliances.
