Subject:2011-12 Low-Income Housing Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) funding / Amend 1
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) and weatherization program for eligible
County residents. The Board approved receipt of funding for 2011/12 on March 15, 2011.
This board order is to accept additional funding for this program year. The state routinely
releases partial funding at contract onset to be followed by additional allocations as the
fiscal year budget is settled at the State level. Approval of this agreement will allow the
continued provision of LIHEAP and weatherization services to program-eligible households
in Contra Costa County.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If not approved, the Department will not receive funding to operate LIHEAP in Contra
Costa County.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
The Employment & Human Services Department, Community Services Bureau energy
program supports one Contra Costa County community outcome - Outcome #4: "Families
that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing." This outcome is supported by the provision of home
energy assistance to keep households warm in winter and to increase household energy
efficiency.
