ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20913 to cancel one (1) Supervising Appraiser
(DAHC) (represented) position #12577 and one (1) Supervising Auditor-Appraiser (DRNA)
(represented) position #382, and add one (1) Principal Appraiser (DADC) (represented)
position and one (1) Associate Appraiser (DATA) (represented) position in the Assessor's
Office.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost savings of $5,144.00 to the
Department, including an annual pension savings of $1,052.00.
BACKGROUND:
Due to an extremely high number of vacant positions from recent employee retirements, the
Assessor's Office has reevaluated staff assignments and workload distributions in all
divisions of the office with the goal of creating an organizational structure that will maintain

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
adequate staffing and service levels to perform the mandated functions of the office and
meet our statutory obligations. The Assessor's Office has received approval to fill the
above positions and eligible lists for both he Principal Appraiser and Associate Appraiser
job classifications have been established so that permanent appointments can be made as
soon as possible.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, it will be difficult for the Assessor's Office to reorganize
staff and redistribute workloads to meet the current operational needs of the department
and to perform our mandated functions. In addition, service levels may be negatively
impacted due to the lack of flexibility in restructuring the Assessor's Office to provide
maximum service delivery to our customers.
