HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04052011 - C.74RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #74–058–14 with Seneca Residential and Day Treatment Center for Children, a non-profit corporation, effective April 1, 2011, to amend Contract #74–058–13, to increase the payment limit by $59,144, from $203,356 to a new payment limit of $262,500, with no change in the original term of January 1, 2011 through June 30, 2011, and to increase the automatic extension payment limit by $59,144, from $203,356 to a new payment limit of $262,500, with no change in the term of the automatic extension, through December 31, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 30% by Federal FFP Medi-Cal, 19% by State Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis and Treatment (EPSDT), 23% by school districts of students receiving services, and 28% by County Mental Health Realignment. Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: June McHuen, Deputy cc: L Smith, D Gary C.74 To:Board of Supervisors From:William Walker, M.D., Health Services Director Date:April 5, 2011 Contra Costa County Subject:Amendment #74–058–14 with Seneca Residential and Day Treatment Center for Children BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Seneca Residential and Day Treatment Center for Children for the period from January 1, 2011 through June 30, 2011, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2011, for the provision of intensive crises stabilization services to youth through the Mobile Crisis Response Teams. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74–058–14 will allow the Contractor to provide additional services to Seriously Emotionally Disturbed (SED) children and adolescents who are no longer receiving services under AB 3632, through June 30, 2011. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, SED children and adolescents will not receive intensive crisis stabilization services, and will be at risk of requiring hospitalization. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This EPSDT program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
