Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #22-876-14 with Pediatric Contracting Services, Inc., professional corporation, effective
January 1, 2011, to amend Contract #22-876-12 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #22-876-13), to
increase the payment limit by $125,000, from $100,000 to a new payment limit of $225,000, with no change in the
original term of July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This amendment is funded 50% State California Children’s Services and 50% County funds.
(No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
The CCS Program provides state mandated medically necessary therapy services to children, as prescribed by their
Physicians. This Contract will provide temporary physical and occupational therapist to fill staff vacancies during
peak loads, temporary absences and emergency situations.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
June 25, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #22-876-12 (as amended by Contract Amendment
Agreement, #22-876-13) with Pediatric Contracting Services, for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011
to provide occupational and physical therapy services for the County’s California Children Services
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #22-876-14 will allow the Contractor to provide additional services
through June 30, 2011.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, occupation and physical therapy will not be provide to children under the
County’s California Children Services.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This program supports the following Board of supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and
Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide
a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcome include an increase in positive and
emotional development as measure by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
