HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04052011 - C.65RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-294-25 with Staff Care, Inc., a corporation, effective December 1, 2010, to amend Contract #26-294-22 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-294-23) to increase the payment limit by $60,000, from $850,000 to a new payment limit of $910,000, with no change in the original term of January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. BACKGROUND: On December 15, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-294-22 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #26-294-23) with Staff Care, Inc. for the period from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010, to provide temporary physicians for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers. However, due a coverage requested by County in the Emergency, Urology, Mental Health, Radiology and Otolaryngology Departments at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center utilization was higher than originally anticipated. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #26-294-25 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide temporary physician services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, through December 31, 2010. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center would not have appropriate physician coverage. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable.
