APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Risk Manager to execute a contract with the Contra Costa County Schools
Insurance Group (CCCSIG) in an amount not to exceed $185,640 to perform medical billing reviews for the period
effective January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011. (100% Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund)
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% funded by the Workers' Compensation Internal Service Fund
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa County Schools Insurance Group (CCCSIG) and the Contra Costa County Risk Management
Division created a joint partnership as public entities in 2003. CCCSIG has provided workers’ compensation medical
bill review services for Risk Management at approximately a 60% reduction in annual review costs from the
County’s former private provider. This is a renewal of the original contract and will allow the County to receive the
same service fees, which would remain at $15,470 per month.
