HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04052011 - C.43RECOMMENDATION(S):
ADOPT a resolution to AUTHORIZE the Health Services Director or designee to submit and execute a funding
application #28-587-10 to State of California Housing and Community Development Department‘s Emergency
Housing Assistance Funding for EHAP 16 fund allocations in fiscal year 2010-2011 in an amount of $26,000.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The funds requested of the Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP) Round 16 are essential to maintaining
our capacity throughout the emergency shelter system. No additional County funds are required to match this revenue.
BACKGROUND:
There is continuing concern about the lack of emergency shelter services for homeless single adults. EHAP 16
funding is essential to Contra Costa maintaining our bed capacity.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action is not approved, the County Shelter may lose critical funding that supports the shelter program and may
have to run at reduce capacity. This would leave more homeless individuals on the streets.
