HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04052011 - C.36RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20902 to reduce the hours of one (1) permanent full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (VT7G) (represented) position #7456 and incumbent to permanent part-time (20/40); add one (1) permanent part-time (20/40) Licensed Vocational Nurse (VT7G) (represented) position at salary level QBX 1287 ($3,811 - $4,867) in the Health Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of $11,500 (no increase in pension costs) and will be offset by Health Plan member premiums. BACKGROUND: Health Services is requesting to reduce hours of one (1) Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position and incumbent from full time to part time (20/40), and to add one (1) LVN part time position. Approving this request will allow flexibility to cover both weekday and weekend shifts in the Health Plan. Both part-time LVN positions will be assigned to the Advice Nurse Unit. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) calls requiring triage with an acceptable abandonment rate. Additional duties will include: Retrieving laboratory results; providing routine negative test results to patients; assisting with non triage member follow up calls; transferring medical calls to Advice Nurses; assisting in making urgent care appointments and vaccine appointments for patients; and updating patient’s medical record as needed.
