HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04052011 - C.34RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Adjustment Resolution No. 20900 to add one (1) full-time Health Plan Authorization Representative (VRTA) (represented) position at salary level 3RX 1119 ($3,227- $4,121) in the Health Services Department. FISCAL IMPACT: Upon approval, this action will result in an annual cost of approximately $83,576, including pension costs of $16,517, and will be fully funded with Contra Costa Health Plan member premiums. BACKGROUND: The Contra Costa Health Plan Authorization Unit has had an increase in demand of services, which has caused staffing shortages and increasing workloads. In order to meet current staffing needs, the unit has been utilizing temporary employees. However, due to the steadily increasing Health Plan enrollments and referrals, there is a need for a permanent full-time position. This position will be responsible for receiving and entering prior authorization requests for medical services or non-formulary prescription drugs.
