APPOINT the following individual to the Integrated Pest Management Advisory Committee, as recommended by the
Internal Operations Committee:
Environmental Organization Seat: Christine Hagelin, Walnut Creek, CA 94598. Term
Expiration: December 31, 2012
FISCAL IMPACT:
No fiscal impact.
BACKGROUND:
The Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Advisory Committee was established by the Board of Supervisors on
November 10, 2009. The Committee advises the Board of Supervisors on public and environmental health impacts
associated with pest management, provides information on how best to minimize risks and maximize benefits of pest
control activities and promotes a coordinated County-wide effort to implement IPM in the County in a manner that is
consistent with current policy. Each appointment

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
is made for a term of two calendar years. On November 23, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved the addition of
the Environmental Organization seat. Currently, the IPM Advisory Committee is composed of 12 seats; 8 voting and
4 non-voting. The seats are described below.:
Voting Membership
I. Two (2) ex-officio members:
a. Health Services Department representative
b. County/Unincorporated County Storm Water Program representative
II. Six (6) public members:
a. One (1) Public and Environmental Health Advisory Board representative
b. One (1) County Fish and Wildlife Committee representative
c. Three (3) Type 2, At Large Appointments
d. One (1) Type 3, At Large Appointment from an environmental organization
Non-Voting Membership
I. Four (4) ex-officio members:
a. Agricultural Commissioner, or designee
b. General Services Deputy Director, or designee
c. Public Works Deputy Director, or designee
d. Current Structural Pest Management Contractor with General Services Department
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The seat will remain vacant.
