ADOPT Resolution No. 2011/107 approving the application to the California Department of
Water Resources to obtain Stormwater Flood Management grant funds totaling $2,000,000
under the Disaster Preparedness and Flood Prevention Bond Act of 2006 (Public Resources
Code Section 5096.800 et seq.) (Proposition 1E), Antioch area. (50% California Department
of Water Resources Proposition 1E Funds and 50% matching Flood Control District Funds)
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Contra Costa County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (FC District) will
be required to provide 50% matching funding for the project. The FC District is applying for
$2,000,000 of grant funding and has sufficient funds in Fund Number 256200 (Drainage
Area 130) to provide the 50% match.
BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the proposed grant application is to obtain Stormwater Flood Management
funding from the California Department of Water Resources for the construction of Upper
Sand Creek Basin.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without the Board of Supervisors’ approval, the primary flood protection infrastructure
planned for the Marsh Creek Watershed will be not be fully funded and the project may
not be able to be built in its entirety.
