Gabriel on ) Thirty-Two Years of Resolution No. 90/23 Dedicated Service to Contra Costa County WHEREAS, Rudolph C. Gabriel is retiring after thirty-two years of dedicated service in the Contra Costa County Probation Department; and WHEREAS, Rudolph (Rudy) has served the Probation Department in a variety of indispensable roles over these years, rising from a Juvenile Hall Counselor to a Probation Supervisor I ; and WHEREAS, Rudy was the first black deputy in the Adult Division and also the first black supervisor in the Adult Division and remained as such for nine years; and WHEREAS, Rudy has been instrumental in: developing the first banked caseload for the Adult Division; getting the Management Information System up and running; and generally contributing greatly to training programs, facility planning, and community organizations; and WHEREAS, Rudy will be sorely missed by the staff of the Probation Department and the West County community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County commends Rudolph C. Gabriel for his years of exemplary service to the Contra Costa County Probation Department and particularly to the citizens of West Contra Costa County; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County wishes Rudy much happiness and good health during his well-deserved retirement years.
