HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03152011 - C.97RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #22–611–28 with New Connections, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $351,000, to provide services to County residents with HIV disease for the period from March 1, 2011 through February 29, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Federally-funded, by the State, through the Ryan White Treatment Extension Act of 2009, through an inter-governmental agreement with Alameda County, who is the Grantee of these funds. No County funds are required. (No rate increase) BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing substance-abuse related counseling, advocacy, referral and placement service to County residents living with HIV/AIDS disease who are also substance abusers to decrease their substance abuse, improve and/or maintain their health status, and promote stability in their lives. Approval of Contract #22–611–28 will allow Contractor to continue providing services through February 29, 2012. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, support services will not be provided to County residents diagnosed with HIV disease. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not Applicable
