Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf
of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #74–382–2 with The Contra Costa
Clubhouses, Inc., a non-profit corporation, effective February 1, 2011, to amend Novation
Contract #74–382–1, to increase the payment limit by $20,000, from $442,440 to a new
payment limit of $462,440, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2010 through June
30, 2011, and no change in the automatic extension amount of $221,220, through December
31, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Services Act (MHSA/Prop 63). (No rate
increase)
BACKGROUND:
On July 27, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #74–382–1 with
The Contra Costa Clubhouses, Inc. for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011,
which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2011, for the
provision

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
of MHSA prevention and early intervention services.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74–382–2 will allow the Contractor to
provide additional services, including production of mental health videos through June 30,
2011.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, County’s consumers of mental health services will not
receive information and inspiration on the principles of mental health recovery and
resources to support their involvement in their participation in their recovery.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This MHSA program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes:
“Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and
Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes
include increases in social connectedness, communication skills, parenting skills, and
knowledge of the human service system in Contra Costa County.
