Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Patricia Tanquary) to
execute on behalf of the County, Contract #27-287-10 with Louis Klein, M.D., Inc., a
professional corporation, in an amount not to exceed $380,000, to provide professional
OB/GYN services for the Contra Costa Health Plan for the period from February 1, 2011
through January 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan (Health Plan) member
premiums. Costs depend upon utilization. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care
services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan
membership contracts with the County. On February 24, 2009, the Board of Supervisors
approved Contract #27-287-9 with Louis Klein, M.D., Inc., a professional corporation for
the period from February 1, 2009 through January 31, 2011, to provide OB/GYN services.
Approval of Contract #27-287-10 will allow the Contractor to continue to provide OB/GYN
