FISCAL IMPACT: NONE. BACKGROUND: The Contra Costa Transportation Authority convenes its Technical Coordinating Committee monthly to advise the Authority on technical issues pertaining to the countywide transportation planning and growth management program and the Authoritys' work as the countywide congestion management agency. Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: June McHuen, Deputy cc: C. 54 To:Board of Supervisors From:Catherine Kutsuris, Conservation & Development Director Date:March 15, 2011 Contra Costa County Subject:Staff Appointments to Contra Costa Transportation Authority's Technical Coordinating Committee The Technical Coordinating Committee has three staff representatives from each of the regional transportation BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) planning committees, three from the County, and one representative each from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the City/County Engineering Advisory Committee, the public transit agencies, Caltrans, and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. The representatives' terms expire on March 31 and the Authority has asked all the agencies for new appointments or reappointments. The appointments will be for the new two-year term that will run from April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2013. The Board of Supervisors is being asked to reappoint the County's current representatives and alternates for the new term. They are Mike Carlson and alternate Chris Lau, Public Works Dept. (Transportation Engineering); Steven Goetz and alternate John Greitzer, Dept. of Conservation and Development (Transportation Planning); and Patrick Roche and alternate Aruna Bhat, Dept. of Conservation and Development (Land Use Planning). CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County would not have representation on the Technical Coordinating Committee, which influences the plans, decisions and policies of the Contra Costa Transportation Authority. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: NONE.
