Subject:Resolution of local support for federal STP/CMAQ funding for the Kirker Pass Road Overlay Project
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
of federal funding in the Surface Transportation Authorization Act and establishes an overall framework and funding
estimate. As part of the programming policy, a Federal Aid Secondary (FAS) Program was identified to address the
rehabilitation shortfalls on the regional local streets and roads network. The FAS Program represents funding
commitments direct to counties for road rehabilitation located on the Federal Aid System.
The Kirker Pass Road Overlay Project will overlay a segment of Kirker Pass Road from approximately 1.5 miles west
of the Pittsburg City Limits to the Pittsburg City Limits. This segment of Kirker Pass Road was selected based on the
current pavement condition index of the segment and the roadway classification per the Federal-Aid Highway
System.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to approve the submittal of this application will eliminate a potential funding source.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Not applicable.
