HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 03012011 - C.73RECOMMENDATION(S): REFER to the Finance Committee of the Board of Supervisors a review of Administrative Bulletin #117 regarding Gifts and Bequests, as recommended by the County Administrator. FISCAL IMPACT: No fiscal impact from the recommended action. BACKGROUND: Administrative Bulletin #117 - Gifts and Bequests outlines the County policy on the acceptance of gifts and bequests. The current policy allows a County officer or employee designated by the Board of Supervisors to accept gifts and bequests up to $5,000. Under Government Code section 25355 County boards may delegate acceptance of gifts up to $10,000. The County Administrator's Office proposes to increase the delegation up to the maximum amount allowed by law. Therefore, it is recommended that the Finance Committee review the proposed changes and make a recommendation to the Board of Supervisors on the changes proposed.
