Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department,
to execute a Purchase Order with R-Computer in amount not to exceed $800,000, for the
purchase of Hewlett Packard Personal Computers (PC) systems, including monitors,
keyboards, mouse, Windows 7 (O/S) Operating System, for the period from April 15, 2011
through April 14, 2012.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Total cost of $800,000.00 is budgeted in the Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
Health Services Information Technology supports approximately 4000 personal computers
at CCRMC clinics and health centers throughout Contra Costa County. Most of these new
Windows 7 PC systems will replace out dated Windows 2000 and XP Pro Systems that are
no longer supported by Microsoft. This is a blanket P.O. renewal with Hewlett Packard
reseller R-Computer. Pricing structure fall under Hewlett Packard WSCA contract #
B27164-CA, valid thru 8/30/2014. Quote price is also in conjunction with Contra Costa
County Purchasing bid # 0907-004.
