BACKGROUND:
One agreement to settle pending litigation, as defined in Government Code section 54956.9,
became final during the period of January 1, 2011 - February 28, 2011.
Claim of Lena O’Neal. This is a discrimination and retaliation claim. As part of a settlement
and release agreement, the Board of Supervisors authorized payment of $107,500, inclusive
of attorney fees. The Board authorized settlement on January 25, 2011 in closed session, by
a 4-0 vote (Piepho absent). The settlement amount was paid through the Risk Management
Internal Service Fund.
This report includes final settlements of litigation matters handled by the Office
