HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02152011 - C.19RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE the appointment of Barbara Flynn to the position of County Librarian, Contra Costa County; and AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller to reimburse the new County Librarian for reasonable moving expenses incurred in relocating to the Bay Area from the San Diego area, in a total amount not to exceed $5,000. FISCAL IMPACT: The cost of these expenses are within the FY 2010/11 budget of the County Library. BACKGROUND: The County conducted an external recruitment from August - December 2010. As the result of this recruitment, a candidate has accepted the position and officially will begin employment on March 7, 2011. In order to accept this position, it is necessary for the candidate to relocate to the Bay Area from the San Diego area. A one-time reimbursement payment in an amount not to exceed $5,000 is necessary to help defray moving expenses.
