APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Librarian, or designee, to apply for and accept a grant in
the amount of $4,000 from Sutter Delta Medical Center and the Delta Memorial Hospital
Foundation to provide health related books for the period of February 1, 2011 through June
30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No Library fund match.
BACKGROUND:
Delta Memorial Hospital Foundation improves the quality of health care in eastern Contra
Costa County by raising funds to support equipment and programs at Sutter Delta Medical
Center. The Antioch Library created a cooperative partnership with the Sutter Delta Medical
Center’s Community Benefits Department. The Library will use grant monies to purchase
health and medical resources for community education and wellness as well as offer health
education programming from the Community Benefits Instructor & Events Coordinator.

to improve their health and wellness

CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
Family health and wellness begins with a child’s or youth’s Parents/Guardians/Caregivers.
Providing materials that support patient and caregiver education will strengthen family as
well as community wellness. These materials support the community outcome of Children
and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood.
