Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#23–383–4 with Computer Sciences Corporation, a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, to provide
professional technical support services with regard to the Department’s Information Systems requirements, for the
period from August 1, 2010 through July 31, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. (No rate increase)
BACKGROUND:
On August 11, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #23–383–3 with Computer Sciences Corporation,
for the period from August 1, 2009 through July 31, 2010, for the provision of professional support services,
technical assistance, and consulting to the Director of Information Systems, with regard to information management
and technology planning projects and requirements.
This Contract includes modification to the General Conditions, Paragraph 18 (Indemnification)

to limit Contractor’s liabilities for any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract.
Approval of Contract #23–383–4 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through July 31, 2011.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, County will not have access to Contractor’s expertise with regard to computer
systems at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center.
