Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract
#26-506-3 with East Bay Perinatal Medical Associates, a general partnership, in an amount not to exceed $102,000,
for the provision of perinatalogy services for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health
Centers, for the period from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. No rate increase.
BACKGROUND:
On January 8, 2010, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-506-1 (as amended by Amendment Agreement
#26-506-2) with East Bay Perinatal Medical Associates, for the period from January 1, 2008 through December 31,
2010, for the provision of perinatology services including, but not limited to, twenty-four hour a day, seven days a
week telephone consultation services for perinatal patients, on-site perinatal consultation at Pittsburg, Richmond and
Martinez Clinics, providing Level-II

ultrasounds and genetic counseling for patients with normal Alpha Fetal Protein screens.
Approval of Contract #26-506-3 will allow the Contractor to continue providing perinatalogy services through
December 31, 2013.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, patients requiring these medical services at Contra Costa Regional Medical and
Contra Costa Health Centers would go untreated.
