HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01112011 - C.61RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Novation Contract #74–363–1 with La Clínica de La Raza, Inc., a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $256,750, to provide Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) prevention and early intervention services for the period from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2011, in an amount not to exceed $128,375. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Proposition 63/MHSA. No County funds are required. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Contra Costa County so that they can support the strong development of their children and youth. On July 21, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #74–363 with La Clínica de La Raza, Inc., for the period from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2010, for the provision of MHSA prevention and early intervention services. Approval of Novation Contract #74–363–1 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2011. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, Contractor will not provide mental health risk factor screening for children and adults, behavioral health intervention, and psycho-educational and parenting groups. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This MHSA-PEI program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include increases in social connectedness, communication skills, parenting skills, and knowledge of the human service system in Contra Costa County.
