Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Service Department, to execute a purchase
order with General Electric Healthcare in the amount of $180,000 to provide radiopharmaceutical distribution
services through the County Novation Contract Agreement.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Funding is 100% Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
General Electric Healthcare was awarded the Radiopharmaceutical Distribution agreement with Novation. The
products provided include Unit Dose Diagnostic and Therapeutic Nuclear Medicine Radioisotopes; Tc99 Generators;
Reference and Flood; Pharmaceutical Stress Agents; Cardiac Isotope Myoview. The products supplied through this
agreement are necessary to the operation of the Nuclear Medicine section of the Diagnostic Imaging Department.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, the Diagnostic Imaging Nuclear Medicine Service will not be able to provide Nuclear
Medicine care to our patients. The patient procedures cannot be performed without the required radiopharmaceutical
agents/isotopes.
