HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01112011 - C.42RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment & Human Services Department director, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with the California Department of Education to amend the minimum days of operation to 244 days for state preschool programs with no change to the payment limit of $8,474,592 or term July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% State funding No County match State: CSPP 0048/ CCC: 39-908-5 BACKGROUND: Contra Costa County receives funding from California Department of Education to provide state preschool program services for program-eligible County residents. The board approved receipt of funds for the 2010-11 program year on July 13, 2010. CCC: 39-908-5 CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Employment & Human Services Department Community Services Bureau supports three of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and, Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
