FISCAL IMPACT: No County match 84.4% State funds ($2,355,320) 15.6% Federal funds ($437,135) / CFDA #93.596 BACKGROUND: Contra Costa County receives funding from California Department of Education to provide state preschool and general childcare development services to program-eligible County residents. The Board approved receipt of funds for the 2010-11 program year on June 22, 2010. State # CCTR 0025 County # 39-801-23 CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: The Community Services Bureau of the Employment & Human Services Department’s Child Development program supports three of Contra Costa County’s community outcomes - Outcome 1: “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School,” Outcome 3: “Families that are Economically Self-sufficient,” and, Outcome 4: “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing.” These outcomes are achieved by offering comprehensive services, including high quality early childhood education, nutrition, and health services to low-income children throughout Contra Costa County.
