HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01112011 - C.25RECOMMENDATION(S):
APPROVE Appropriations and Revenue Adjustment No. 5013 authorizing new revenue in the amount of $19,473
from the Contra Costa County Fish and Wildlife Committee and appropriating it to the Sheriff's Budget for the
purchase of a sinking vessel trailer.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This action increases revenue and expenditures by $19,473. There is no change in net County cost.
BACKGROUND:
The Contra Costa County Fish and Wildlife Committee, through a grant previously approved by the Board of
Supervisors and in recognition of the critical importance of removing derelict vessels posing an environmental and
navigation hazard in the County waterways, has selected the Sheriff's Office to receive a portion of annual grant
funding to purchase a sinking vessel emergency trailer. The Fish and Wildlife Committee has provided funding to
the Office of the Sheriff's Marine Patrol Unit in the amount of $19,473 to be used solely for the purchase of a
multi-vessel heavy duty trailer and related trailer equipment. This trailer will enable the Office of the Sheriff Marine
Patrol Unit to quickly remove a sinking vessel from county waterways at no cost to the County.
