APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chair, Board of Supervisors, or designee to execute the Reimbursement
Agreement for Design Review and Construction Monitoring with the Reclamation District 799 (RD799) for the
Bethel Island Road Bridge Replacement Project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund. Local road funds will pay for the local share (20%) costs, Highway
Bridge Program (Federal) (80%) to reimburse RD799 for the items described in this reimbursement agreement.
BACKGROUND:
On April 24, 2001, a reimbursement agreement was approved by the County Board of Supervisors and Reclamation
District 799 (RD799) to pay RD799 for their cost to review the County’s proposal to replace the Bethel Island Road
Bridge over Dutch Slough due to the project impacts to RD799 facilities (i.e., the levee). This new reimbursement is
needed to reflect the changes to the project conditions after the April 24, 2001 reimbursement agreement was
executed and will supersede the previous

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
reimbursement agreement dated April 24, 2001.
The 2001 agreement has a payment limit of $20,000 and covered review of the project design plans. The new
agreement proposes a payment limit of $110,000 and will cover project review costs through the construction phase.
Construction of the bridge project began in June 2009 and is expected to be substantially complete on December 31,
2010.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The County will not be able to reimburse the Reclamation District for the balance of their costs to review the project
design and monitor the construction of the project.
