Diablo Adult Education to increase the payment limit by $83,772 to a new payment limit not to exceed $282,990 effective December 1, 2010, to provide additional Microsoft Office and Building Performance Institute (BPI) training services to dislocated workers, with no change to the contract term of February 14, 2011, to June 30, 2011 . Diablo Adult Education for Microsoft Office Training Services BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Costa County. The Microsoft Office Training course will consist of the following applications: Introduction to PC/Windows, Introduction to Word, Intermediate Word, Introduction to Excel, Intermediate Excel, Power Point and Outlook. This amendment will allow the Agency to provide Microsoft Office training to 40 Title V participants, and Building Performance Institute (BPI) training to 36 WIA participants from the contruction industry. (#18-235-2) CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Adult and Dislocated workers will have fewer training opportunities which may result in delayed entry and/or re-entry into the workforce. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This contract supports all five of the community outcomes established in the Children’s Report Card: 1) “Children Ready for and Succeeding in School”; 2) “Children and Youth Healthy and Preparing for Productive Adulthood”; 3) “Families that are Economically Self Sufficient”; 4) “Families that are Safe, Stable and Nurturing”; and 5) “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families,” by assisting with career training and upgrading job skills which provide opportunities for dislocated workers to re-enter the workforce and to move toward self sufficiency.
