HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12142010 - C.106RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #74–300–3 with Community Health for Asian Americans, a non-profit corporation, effective June 1, 2009, to amend Novation Contract #74–300–1, to increase the payment limit by $15,185, from $96,552 to a new payment limit of $111,737, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, and with no change in the automatic extension payment limit of $51,711, through December 31, 2009. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 33% by Federal Medi-Cal, and 67% by State Mental Health Services Act (MHSA). The original payment limit was based on expected levels of service. Additional services were requested by the County, and were provided, in good faith, by the Contractor. The Contractor unknowingly provided services in excess of the contract limit. Reconciliation of total contract costs against State and federal reimbursement is completed six to twelve months after the close of the fiscal year and submitted to the State. The overexpenditure of the contract was identified during this process. By approving this recommendation to amend the contract the County will be able to claim State/Federal reimbursement for the contract costs with no impact on the County General Fund. Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74–300–3 will allow the Contractor to provide additional services through June 30, 2009. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not be paid for services provided to County’s clients. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: Not applicable
