Subject:Amendment #74–300–3 with Community Health for Asian Americans
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
31, 2009, to provide implementation of the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA)
Community Services and Supports Program.
The original payment limit was based on expected levels of service. Additional services
were requested by the County, and were provided, in good faith, by the Contractor. The
Contractor unknowingly provided services in excess of the contract limit. Reconciliation of
total contract costs against State and federal reimbursement is completed six to twelve
months after the close of the fiscal year and submitted to the State. The overexpenditure of
the contract was identified during this process. By approving this recommendation to amend
the contract the County will be able to claim State/Federal reimbursement for the contract
costs with no impact on the County General Fund.
Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #74–300–3 will allow the Contractor to
provide additional services through June 30, 2009.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this amendment is not approved, Contractor will not be paid for services provided to
County’s clients.
