Subject:Novation Contract #74–279–5 with Young Men’s Christian Association of the East Bay
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
school, and high school students within the WCCUSD, and their families.
On December 1, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #74–279–4
with Young Men’s Christian Association of the East Bay, for the period from July 1, 2009
through June 30, 2010, which included a six-month automatic extension through December
31, 2010, for the provision of school-based mental health services to SED students in West
Contra Costa County.
Approval of Novation Contract #74–279–5 replaces the automatic extension under the prior
Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2011.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, SED elementary, middle school, and high school students
within the WCCUSD will not receive the school and community-based mental health
services they need, and may later require treatment at a higher level of service.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
This EPSDT program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes:
“Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and
Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for
Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social
and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional
Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
