On December 1, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24–928–15 (as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #24–928–16) with Fred Finch Children’s Home, for the period from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010, which included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2010, for the provision of school-based day treatment and mental health services for students in the Mt. Diablo Unified School District. Approval of Novation Contract #24–928–17 replaces the automatic extension under the prior Contract and allows the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2011. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, SED children within the Mt. Diablo Unified School District will not receive the school-based day treatment and mental health services that they need and may require higher and more costly levels of treatment. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: This EPSDT program supports the following Board of Supervisors’ community outcomes: “Children Ready For and Succeeding in School”; “Families that are Safe, Stable, and Nurturing”; and “Communities that are Safe and Provide a High Quality of Life for Children and Families”. Expected program outcomes include an increase in positive social and emotional development as measured by the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS).
