HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12142010 - C.78RECOMMENDATION(S): Authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute, on behalf of the Health Services Department, a purchase order with Bacon East Pharmacy in the amount of $135,000 to provide pharmacy prescriptions for mentally ill clients in Contra Costa Mental Health Programs who are uninsured or do not have Medi-Cal, for the period from February 1, 2011 through January 31, 2012. FISCAL IMPACT: No County General Funds. 100% Realignment Funds. BACKGROUND: Uninsured consumers leaving the hospital need medications while benefits are being established. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, consumers unable to get needed medications could end up in the Emergency Room, and ultimately as an inpatient.
