HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 12142010 - C.62RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Patricia Tanquary), to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #27-277-12 with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $60,000,000, to provide professional health care services for Medi-Cal recipients enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, for the period from January 1, 2010 through September 30, 2013. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan member premiums. Costs depend upon utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third-party payors will be billed for services. BACKGROUND: On October 3, 2006, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #27-277-8 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #27-277-9 through 27-277-11) with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan, Inc., for the period from October 1, 2005 through December 31, 2009, for the provision of professional health care services for Medi-Cal recipients enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Due to lengthy negotiations, the Contractor, as requested by County has continued to provide services in good faith. Approval of Contract #27-277-12 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through September 30, 2013, including mutual indemnification to hold harmless both parties for any claims arising out of the performance of this Contract. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If this contract is not approved, Medi-Cal recipients enrolled in Kaiser Foundation Health Plan will not receive professional health care services. CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT: NOT APPLICABLE.
