Approve and Authorize the Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Health Services Department,
to execute a Change Order to Purchase Order #21836 with Monahan Paper Company to add
$50,000 for a new total of $230,000 and extend the term from January 31, 2011 to January
31, 2012 for the purchase of janitorial supplies at the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center
and Contra Costa Health Centers.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total cost of $50,000 is budgeted in Enterprise Fund I.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department has been purchasing janitorial supplies from Monahan
Paper Company for some years. Purchasing went out to bid in 2007 and Monahan Paper was
one of the vendors selected. The bid is good until 2012.
Approval of this change order will allow Monahan Paper Company to continue providing
janitorial supplies to Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Health Centers through
January 31, 2012.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this contract is not approved, Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Clinics will have
one less source from which to purchase janitorial supplies, making it difficult to keep the
hospital and clinics clean and sanitary.
