FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost associated with this request is $123,926.06 per year, including $25,784 attributable
to retirement expenses, and will be 100% offset by the cancellation of permanent part time
position #12063, cancellation of a temporary position, and reduction in overtime expense.

Specialist part-time position
BACKGROUND:
The Health Services Department is requesting to add 2 permanent intermittent Mental
Health Clinical Specialist positions and cancel one part-time (14/40) Mental Health
Clinical Specialist position #12063 at Martinez Detention Facility to be able to
effectively utilize resources and coverage. The flexibility to deploy Permanent
Intermittent staff as needed for coverage will allow the ability to continue to provide safe
and effective services.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If these positions are not added overtime costs and adequate staffing will continue to be
an ongoing issue.
CHILDREN'S IMPACT STATEMENT:
